A small gallery, disguised as a hotel
Highfield Retreat is more than somewhere to sleep — work from regional artists lines the hallways and bedrooms throughout the house. A rotating collection of paintings hangs across the property, much of it available to purchase, and a fuller selection can be seen at a small gallery on Daylesford's main street.
Steel, softened
In my sculptural work I draw on heritage and lived experience to build large figurative pieces designed to evoke something strong and positive. Old and new sit together almost without thinking — I love pulling something as masculine as mild steel into softer, feminine, flowing forms. Each piece carries a part of me, and I hope it can speak for itself, without much explanation needed.
Studio visits with the artist and his partner can be arranged by appointment — a private look at the work in the setting it was made.
