Mount York – just 3 minutes down the road from Highfield House, is the spot where the three European explorers finally managed to cross the Blue Mountains in 1813. It’s well worth a visit to see the huge Obelisk there

Is breakfast included?
Yes, a 2-course, a la carte, breakfast is included in all tariffs. There are three choices per course, as well as we cater for most dietary requirements. Please reach us us if you would like any further information.
Are children allowed to stay at Highfield House?
No unfortunately. As a boutique, adults-only hideaway (over 16 years of age), where couples or friends can relax as well as rejuvenate we are unable to accommodate infants or children. We are not set up for accommodating them but there are many wonderful, child friendly options near-by.
What time is check in as well as check-out?
Check-in is from 2.00pm on the day of arrival as well as check-out is at 10.30am on day of departure.
What time is the latest we can check in?
Check-in is generally between 2.00pm as well as. 7.00pm. Please reach us us on 0490 831 451 if you would like to organise a later check-in. Please note – we do not have the ability to check-in visitors after 9.45pm
Can I get an earlier check-in, say 1.00pm or 1.30pm?
Please reach us us on 0490 831 451 to understand if this is possible – it will depend on the previous night as well as other visitors departures on the day of your arrival.
Are you pet-friendly?
No. Despite loving them, unfortunately we are not able to accept pets as visitors.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel your booking up to three (3) days prior to the date of your arrival – the non-refundable period. For example, for cancellations of a Friday check-in, you can cancel up until the prior Monday evening, at 23.59pm AEST.
What is the cancellation charge?
If you cancel in the non refundable period (the 3 days prior to the date of your arrival) you will be charged the total price of the reservation.
What if I don’t show up?
If you do not show up, then the card on file will be charged the total price of the whole reservation.
What if I reserve in the 3 days prior to arrival?
Bookings made within 3 days of the arrival date (the non refundable period), that are then cancelled within this period, will be fully charged.
What is the required length of a stay?
During long weekends as well as public holidays a minimum 2-night stay is required. At all other times, single night bookings are accepted. Please reach us us if you have any questions our story your booking length.
When will I be charged?
Pre-payment for accommodation will be processed in the 3 days prior to the date of your arrival, via the card on file. We accept MasterCard, Visa as well as American Express. All card payments will incur a 1.6% card processing fee.
Can I pay cash?
Of course, If you want to pay alongside cash, you must reach us us prior to the 3 day, non-refundable period, before your check-in date, as well as we will organise this for you.
Can I have a party at Highfield House?
We do not accept bookings for parties, hens do’s or stag events.
Can I smoke at Highfield House?
No, we have a strict no smoking policy on as well as near the premises. We can provide you alongside a location, away from the main house to smoke.
Can I park at Highfield House?
Yes, we have ample off-street parking for our visitors.
Why are there no TV’s in the guest rooms?
We found that they disturb other visitors too much. But to compensate, we installed commercial-grade wifi, so you can still stay connecting alongside the outside world via your laptops, iPads or phones.
Can I reserve a single bed?
No, all of our guest rooms have queen sized beds.
Can I reserve extra people into my room?
No. We do not have the facility to provide ‘roll-away’ beds for any of the guest rooms. Each guest rooms’ maximum occupancy is two adults.
Highfield House is situated within the Country of the Dharug as well as Gundungurra peoples. We acknowledge the Dharug as well as Gundungurra peoples as the classic custodians of these lands as well as pay our respects to Elders past as well as present.
